Program overview

The Bachelor of Agribusiness Management at Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to manage agricultural enterprises and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development. The programme provides a strong background in business management, economics, and agricultural sciences, making it highly relevant in addressing contemporary challenges such as food security, unemployment, climate change, and global trade dynamics. Prospective students and parents are attracted by the programme’s emphasis on practical learning, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving, while potential employers including agribusiness firms, government agencies, NGOs, financial institutions, and international development organizations value the graduates’ capacity to integrate agricultural innovation with sound business practices. At MUST, students benefit from a rich learning environment supported by experienced academic staff, modern infrastructure, and the University’s proven track record in applied research and community engagement. Through lectures, fieldwork, case studies, and internships, learners gain hands-on exposure to the real-world challenges of agribusiness. Upon completion, graduates are expected to demonstrate competencies in enterprise management, agribusiness development, value chain analysis, policy formulation, and consultancy, opening doors to careers in agribusiness management, agricultural finance, extension services, and entrepreneurship.
