The Department of Loans and Scholarships falls under the Directorate of Undergraduate Studies (DUS). The department is responsible for managing and administering students’ loans and financial aid provided by various sponsors. The main functions of the Office are not limited to:
- Financial Aid Counseling: The office offers financial counseling services to help students understand their loan options, repayment terms and financial responsibilities.
- Loan Application Process: The Loans Office guides students through the HESLB loan application process, providing information about eligibility criteria, required documentation, and deadlines
- Loan Disbursement: The office is responsible to ensure timely and accurate disbursement of funds to students.
- Scholarships and Grants: In addition to Loans, the office also provides information about the available scholarship opportunities, eligibility criteria, application procedures and time for application.
- Loan Repayment Assistance: The Loans Office assists students in understanding their loan repayment obligations. We provide information about repayment procedures. We also offer guidance on financial literacy and money management to help students develop good financial habits.
- Create and Update Database for new and existing loans beneficiaries.
- Act as a bridge between the University and Loan sponsors like HESLB, ZHELB.

The office is open in all week days (Monday to Friday; 07:30AM to 03:30PM East Africa Time)
